It’s Your Day!

Hi all!!!  It feels like *forever* since I have been able to get some crafting done – life and duties can just get in the way of our fun, can’t it??  Well, I was feeling a little stressed last night so I hit my craft room and worked on a simple card using our National Stamping Month exclusive double D stamp set – It’s Your Day.  This set is only available until September 30 and is only $5 with any $35 order!!!  That’s a $35.90 value for only $5!!  All the outlined stamped images can be cut with our Cricut Artiste Collection ($99, item Z1790).  It’s so cute and versatile – stay tuned to my blog for more cards and a layout featuring this set in the next week!  🙂

For this card, I based the layout on Pattern 19 from our new Make It From Your Heart Inpiration Book ($7.95, item 9035).  This book features 16 two page layout patterns, 2 single-page patterns, and 12 different card patterns.  LOVE THIS!!!!

And finally, here’s the card!!  🙂  I used black cardstock for the base, white cardstock for the banners and phrase bubble, whisper cardstock for the butterflies, and lagoon cardstock for the shadow phrase bubble.  Ink colors were sunset, lagoon, pear, honey, slate (distressing) and black.  Accessories:  sparkles, gray Baker’s Twine, and our *NEW* Silver Shimmer Ribbon Trim ($4.95 for 5 yards, item Z1799)!!

I LOVE the polka dot, zig zag, and stripe stamps in this set!!!   So versatile!!  Instead of stamping the butterflies, I cut them out using our exclusive Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and the phrase bubble and shadow were cut with our *NEW* Cricut Artiste Cartridge!!

I used our adhesive shimmer trim (cut in half ) to accent the butterflies – LOVE!!  Here’s a tip from my experience.  Do not simply cut the ribbon from the spool.  Instead,  peel the ribbon from the backing and then only cut the ribbon, not the backing.  This trick will make it easy for you to peel the ribbon off on your next use, as I found out that it is tricky to separate the ribbon from the backing without a little lead.   Here’s a picture so you can see what I mean….

Have fun, my friends!!!  Make something Scraptabulous – because CUTE matters!
