As most of you know, I have always been a die hard scrapper… It has been a struggle and an evolution for me to use my creativity to make cards, but I am happy to report that I can honestly say now that I LOVE CARDS!!
The main reason that I am jumping into cards is that I have learned that sending a handmade card to someone is like giving them a piece of myself. How many times have we thought to ourselves “I should send a card to so-and-so to let them know I’m thinking of them/I’m proud of them/to encourage them/I miss them/or just because I love them??” And yet, we don’t make the time to create a card… and then don’t get to the store to buy a card… and then that nice little thought goes right out the window and we never share our thoughts with that special someone. For me, the answer is 99% of the time. And that makes me sad.
Truly, I don’t like being sad. So be on the look out for my NEW CARD FRENZY WORKSHOPS coming in September – for only $15, you can make all the cards you can in 2 hours!!! Create a variety of cards to have on hand for those occasions when you need them or when you just want to be a ray of sunshine to a friend. I’m so excited!!!
And – if you need another reason to start making your own cards, how about the cost??? My husband bought a baby card from the store and it was $4.95. Are you kidding me??? I was crazed by the thought of wasting $5 on something that would be thrown in the trash, so I took the card back to the store and created my own (from scraps leftover from L8R Skater pages).
Here is the result:
Make something SCRAPTABULOUS – because CUTE matters!
